ConnectNC, Inc. offers two different types of network setups that fulfill the same purpose, but each provides a different means of facilitation based on the area in which the network will reside. We offer wired and wireless networks. Wired can be used if the facility is already wired for network use or if you would like to have it wired. Wireless can be used either way, however, the advantages to using wireless are that you are not confined to one area to use your computer/laptop, and that the cost is so minimal to have wireless that it makes wiring a building unnecessary from a cost perspective. Below you will find a detailed illustration of wired and wireless configurations.

**Please keep in mind that all of the devices may or may not be present in your facility. The illustrations contain extra equipment, these are present so that we can illustrate a residential or business wired or wireless network.

Wired:

As you can see below, each device (computer, laptop, etc.) has a line (wire) going to it. The wires will cause a building to need to be wired, otherwise lines will run across floors, underneath carpets, and above doorways.

Wireless:

In the illustration below, you can see that there are still wires, however, you will notice that there are fewer wires. The wires, for the most part, are only connecting to devices such as the access points and hubs.
